Suunto t3d Heart Rate Monitor very glad to go

For years, I struggled with a Polar heart rate monitor. i’d got to wet the strap, generally wait up to 20 minutes for it to “warm up” and detect a symbol, and endure constant signal “drop outs” creating giant gaps in my coaching data. Eventually, i might had enough, and set to do this specific Suunto t3d Heart Rate Monitor as a result of it was on sale at REI. i’ve been using it for three months currently and i’m very satisfied.

First, the watch looks really nice. it’s extremely slim and does not scream “training laptop,” so it’s positively suitable to wear at the workplace, while traveling, or just about anywhere without searching of place.

When you put the center rate strap on, the signal is picked up immediately. i haven’t had to dampen the electrodes or watch for it to warm up; you just put the strap on, flip the watch to coaching mode and you are smart to go. The signal is very solid; you’ll be able to do just about any physical activity in this factor despite what proportion it contorts your torso and also the watch will still obtain your heart rate no downside.

The interface is admittedly a bit confusing, but with some apply you’ll get used to it. Recalling data is simple, there’s multiple time zone support, stopwatch… just about every basic perform you’d expect. The calories burned perform is, as way as I can tell, very correct after you subtract the calories you would have burned sitting still.

As way as cons go, there are very few. The battery life is sweet, though not as good as on my Polar (I had to interchange the t3ds battery after concerning 3 months of heavy, near-daily use). Others have complained that the screen is difficult to browse, though personally I even have no issues.

Over-all, if you’re looking to spend less than two hundred greenbacks and get an extremely reliable heart rate monitor, this can be your watch.
